The time has come for parental choice in education in North Dakota.
Next Tuesday and Wednesday, the Senate Education Committee and the House Education Committee will hold hearings on four parental choice bills. Each of these bills creates a program to fund educational savings accounts. The funds in these accounts could be used for educational purposes.
The Senate Education Committee and the House Education Committee need to hear from parents on how educational choice would help them choose the best educational setting for their children.
Though the funding mechanisms, bill language, and administration differ, these are all bills that offer financial support for parents in choosing the form of education that is best suited to their child's needs.
Please submit written testimony in support of each bill. Using your own words, write why you support parental choice in education. For example, explain how the bill would help you or a family you know to choose the best school for a particular child. It does not need to be long, and you do not need to write about the details of the bills. Save it as a pdf and upload it for each of the bills using the links below.
Consider also attending the committee hearings in person to testify or just to offer your support. Please see the hearing schedule below under "Upcoming Hearings of Interest" for information on the hearing times and locations.
